Ohne mich jetzt durch die AGBs von Continental und United zu quälen hab ich eine kurze Frage:

United ist doch Star Alliance. Zählt Continental auch dazu?
Und wenn ja, hat es Vorteile, die Meilen bei United/Continental zu sammeln, statt bei der LH?
Insbesondere im Bezug auf Gültigkeit der Prämienmeilen.

UA und CO haben fusioniert. Gibt also nur noch United, die natürlich in der Star Alliance bleibt. Der Rest ist Kleingedrucktes...

ich hab eine mail von Continental bekommen darin steht ich soll mich erstmalig bei the 2012 MileagePlus program einloggen (mit dem alten Pin u. Password von Continental). Dieses Weekend wird von OnePass auf MileagePlus® umgestellt / migriert...

Das hab ich gemacht, dort steht jetzt:

" Mike,
Your OnePass® account number (xxxx1723) will become your MileagePlus® account number on March 3, 2012."

On March 3, the 2012 MileagePlus program begins, and MileagePlus becomes the single loyalty program for the new United and for Copa Airlines. This final update includes important details about account numbers, PINs and passwords, as well as some notes about what to expect for the weekend of March 3, as we complete our system migration.

Your account number

The 2012 MileagePlus program begins March 3, and you will become a MileagePlus member at that time. Your OnePass account number will become your MileagePlus number.

• A one-time grant of MileagePlus award miles equivalent to your OnePass reward miles balance will be deposited into your MileagePlus account. We will do the same with elite qualifying activity and upgrades.
• If you have a OnePass Credit Card, continue to use it as you always have. The miles you earn will continue to credit to your account, even though it is now a MileagePlus account.

PIN

On March 3, your OnePass PIN will carry over to become your MileagePlus PIN. When you call United or MileagePlus, it will provide the same security benefit that it does now.
Website password

On March 3, the continental.com website will move to a new address - united.com - but it will look the same as it does now. If you have a continental.com password, it will remain valid and carry over to be your united.com password. Learn more at unitedhub.com.
Website profile

The information in your continental.com profile will remain valid. As we complete our system migration during the weekend of March 3, there may be times when the system is unavailable for profile updates. Please take a moment in the next week to ensure your information is correct.

If you subscribe to Continental's TripAlert, please note that as part of our transition on March 3, it will be renamed "Flight Status Notification." Your current settings will remain valid, but we suggest that you verify them after the transition. Visit the United Hub to learn more.

Helpful hints for March 3 weekend

If you are traveling during our transition weekend, you can follow your usual travel routine — you won't have to change anything. You should feel confident about booking reservations, requesting upgrades and selecting seats, just as you would with any other trip. You will be able to check in for your flights using any of the usual options: united.com, your mobile device or an airport kiosk.

Because we are completing our system migration during this period, we will pause our flight crediting process for a few days. Also, you will be temporarily unable to use miles for a Star Alliance™ Upgrade Award.
Moving forward

Once the 2012 MileagePlus program is in place, there are few aspects of your travel experience that will work a little differently.

• Cabin names. The names of our premium cabins will be aligned across our entire fleet. On international routes with three-cabin aircraft, we are introducing United Global First® as the name of the first-class cabin on three-cabin aircraft, offering customers a higher level of privacy and the luxury of a flat-bed suite, personalized attention and priority airport services. • Upgrades. A companion traveling on the same reservation as a Premier member may be confirmed for a Complimentary Premier Upgrade before the day of departure, if upgrade seats are available. Habe gerade mal nachgeschaut, mein Continental Account ist auch bei United gelandet, ganz von allein.
Aber die übertragenen Meilen verfallen im September 2013 - falls ich bis dahin nix buche.

Auf der Übersichtsseite "Mein Konto" links oben, wo die Mileage-Nr. und darunter das Meilenguthaben angegeben ist.
Dort einfach mit der Maus über "Meilenguthaben" gehen, dann kommt ein kleines Popup mit der Info.

das kommt dem also, was ich gesagt habe nahe...innerhalb von 1,5Jahren muß eine Bewegung sein

meine Miles sind auch nach 2013 gewandert....vielleicht kann ich Sie bis dahin mal gebrauchen.... mein letzter Flug mit CO(der ein Lufthansa & United Airl. Flug war) war im Sept. 2010....
